Is it correct to add a second activity ( second machinery), but do not assign an operator which is the only one and already assigned on first machinery. Is it correct to have different distributions for the same activity with one shared resource?

It is hard to tell exactly what your current model is doing from the description. You can have activities after the current one that does not require a resource, and they can have different timings; it all depends on what you are doing. Can you at least post an image of the model you have and some details on what is not working.
send me the model so that I can see what is going on. It looks like with all the queuing that you have some "timing" issues in that you can not get the work gone fast enough.
Hey Vic, if that helps at all, even if in the real life there's a Resource at the pizza Activities (e.g. Baker), it's not essential you use it in the model. I would use Resources if I wanted to capture their utilization, or if they really are a constraint to the process (e.g. Baker works only for some hours in the day).
Therefore, if your model works without Resources, you can keep it this way.
A picture is not sufficient, you need to see all the parameters for the objects to understand what the timing, routing and other things are. From just looking at the picture, you seem to have a problem with timing since you are getting a lot of queuing; maybe you need to replicate some workcenters, change the timings, add resources, change the routing, .... For this you need to see the whole model.
When I duplicate the activity, it does not give me a desired result. But when I add this activity with different distributions and no resource, it reaches the goal.
This is a pizza shop with 2 resources. One resource assigned to activity 1, and one to activity 2 ( baking machinery). The queue leading to activity 2 has a shelf life of 400, and expired pizzas goes to the exit ( through activity 4). The goal is to keep expired pizzas less than 300. All activities have specific properties.
After I tried different scenarios, only additional baking machine allows to achieve the goal, but only when I remove resource and change property to average 10 ( first baking machine had normal 1.5 and assigned resource).
The question: is my model correct? I achieved the goal, but not sure I did it correct.
