Hello!!
I would like your assistance on the following scenario:
I would like to set my simul8 so that items that are exiting from an Activity enter its Queue in a FIFO order and the next Activity pulls the items from the queue in a FIFO order as well.
As far as I know, I do not have to set anything in the Queue Properties Tab of the Queue since FIFO is the DEFAULT operation of the Queue. Do I have to make a setting on the Routing-In Tab of the Activity that will receive the Item from the Queue in order for that Activity to process the Items in a FIFO order as well? I would think that I should select from the Routing-In tab the Oldest (or Youngest ??) and check the Use Queue Time box.

Thank you in advance for your prompt response.

    Hi ppapat,

You are correct that the default for the queue and the activity (using Priority routing in) is to use FIFO. Work items will join the back of the queue and activities will pull an item from the front.

If your work items have a single path that they can follow, selecting Oldest should mean it always takes the work item from the queue, that has been in the system the longest. If there are multiple routes, the 'Oldest' work item may not be the one that entered a particular queue first so sticking with priority routing in may be the better option.

    I hope this helps
